Need home for yellow labs

Need home for yellow labs

Postby Brenda on Tue Jul 01, 2008 3:32 pm

Last Saturday evening, we found a mother yellow lab and her female puppy wandering in our back yard without any ID tags.
Our wonderful neighbor has taken them into her home until we can find permanent homes for them. Our neighbor, Kaley, and I took them to the vet yesterday and they were checked out and vaccinated, and Dr. Overton offered to spay the mamma for free. The guess-timated ages are 2-3 y/o for the mother and 8 weeks for the puppy. The mother, who we've dubbed Mamma Mia, is very affectionate and well behaved and was very good with a little boy who spent ages petting her at the vets office.
The puppy, who we call Bella, is sooooo cute and affectionate. The consensus from the vet and other sources is that they
probably came from a back yard breeder, so we feel like they're purebred labs. They are sweet, sweet dogs, but they need
permanent homes. We have contacted several lab rescue clubs, but so far haven't found foster homes for them.

If you are interested in making a home for either of these dogs, or if you know of anyone who might be interested, let us know.
