On the first Saturday of every month Collin County in partnership with the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) hosts its monthly Collin County Cleanup Day. From 8am to 2pm Collin County residents can drop off the following at the NTMWD landfill on Highway 121 in Melissa at no charge:

� furniture
� appliances
� tires (4 maximum)
� boards, trees and tree limbs not exceeding 8 feet
� motor oil
� oil filters
� general debris

Items not accepted are:
� chemicals
� paints
� all batteries
� antifreeze

Residents must have proof that they live in Collin County and all loads must be covered. Our next Cleanup Day will take place on Saturday, September 5.

As you can see, we cannot take chemicals and household hazardous waste at this monthly event. However, I am pleased to announce that Collin County will sponsor a "Chemical Cleanup" on Monday, September 28, from 8am to 1pm at Myers Park on County Road 166 in McKinney.

This event is open to all residents and like our monthly cleanup day, it is free.

Listed below are items we can and cannot accept at the "Chemical Cleanup" at Myers Park.

What We CAN Accept:
� Pesticides
� Herbicides
� Insecticides
� Fungicides
� Rodenticides
� Nematicides
� Bactericides
� Growth regulators
� Harvest aid chemicals
� Properly rinsed, empty plastic pesticide containers
� Oil/oil filters/Grease
� Transmission fluid
� Brake fluid
� Power Steering fluid
� Anti-freeze
� Paint
� Fluorescent bulbs
� Pesticides used on livestock
� Household cleaners

What We CANNOT Accept:
� Tires
� Radioactive materials
� Explosive materials
� Propane/Butane cylinders larger than 20 gallons
� Biomedical wastes
� Ammunition

Also no waste will be accepted from:
� Chemical dealers
� School chemistry or biology labs
� Applicators regulated by the Texas Structural Pest Control Service
� Oil and oil filters from businesses that change oil for a fee
